Spirit of Ireland
24" x 10" x 11"
Italian travertine classico, bronze
2013
This piece was inspired by the architecture in Europe that incorporates animals on the facade of churches. The part lion part human is a mythological creature who symbolizes the relationship of man and animals in spirituality. There is a small bronze piece embedded over the carved door, to indicate a rosetta window was cast from a barnacle found on the coast of Ireland.
