Terra Cotta Figurative Workshop
This four-day hands-on workshop will focus on figurative works using McArdle’s subtractive method of working in terra cotta with a gestural, subtractive method. Explore expressions from your subconscious mind directly into studies in clay. Learn techniques for the application of terra sigillata and slips, and post-firing application of color and waxes.
Terra cotta mined in Tuscany will be available for this workshop.

August 4th: 9:00am – 3:00pm
August 5th: 9:00am – 3:00pm
August 6th: 9:00am – 3:00pm
August 19th: Finish work after the final firing
This camp will take place at McArdle’s studio on her ranch in rural Boulder County, NOT at the Pottery Lab. Students will work in shaded work areas outside to carve. Students will need to have their own method of transportation to and from the studio in Longmont.
