Back to work on a few small marble pieces.  I am trying to hide from the wind on the south side of the studio.  Looking forward to a few warmer days coming up before the next snow!

 

Exciting news…I will be included in this year’s Coors Western Art Show in Denver in January.  Part of the National Western Stock Show.  I have been going for 8 years since I moved here to CO.  My husband Steve and I used to go to the Bison auction to buy additions to our herd.  I will feature some new work with my iconic Cavalli.

This series of work feels like artifacts I have created from my own mythology and story of working in my studio on our ranch.  My symbology including my precious time with nature and my animals.

 

Here is an example of some of my newer large work in terra cotta with terra sigillata.   They are 34-40 inches tall.

 

 

 

Contemplating the mysteries of the universe and truths that are incomprehensible to reason are part of my inspiration and creative process.  Birth, death and existence of spirit in physical matter are part of these mysteries.

Based on human emotion, and the human figure, I create gesture studies with movement, harmony. Matter is transformed by visions and images and the work of my hands. This group of Torsos in terra cotta, marble, travertine transcend time similar to artifacts that invoke curiosity and a mysterious character.

Working with Roger and Lameroux Crane Service is always a blast. They can really move my work around up, over trees, power lines and walls.

Summer 2011

 

 

 

We were busy at the ranch and studio this summer.  Sculpting, gardening, working horses. July we unpacked the container that left the studio in Carrara, Italy and drove right into our drive at the ranch.  Now marble Torsos, Angels, and lots of material for new work are scattered everywhere waiting for my hands and tools to bring them to life.
